bad blogger

WOW! I just took a look at our blog and do I stink at this! lol I did attempt to put in all the details of JT's broken leg but for some reason the blog wouldn't save or post so I lost it all. Haven't had time to sit down to re write it all. So here is an update and I will go back and disclose all the details of JT's health later.
Right now JT has a clean bill of health from the orthopedist. He is able to get back to his regular PT and other activities. He is really beginning to show us he is a 2 year old. Although he lacks the verbal skills he is finding ways to communicate, mostly what he doesn't like... ie screaming. lol It's new to us so Jake and I tend to question what's wrong. We are use to JT screaming at us but not with much purpose. Now he is screaming with purpose. Mostly anger when he doesn't get his way which is a beautiful thing! The more he grows the more signs of cognition we see and the greater blessing that is. (remember his neurologist is mostly concerned about his cognitive development)
He still isn't sitting, crawling or walking but he is certainly getting stronger every week. We are hopeful things will change in the next year. His verbal skills have taken off though. He can now say with purpose
- mama, dada, up, eek (cheek), no, yes, nope, E, bup (cup), woof, baa baa, moo, please, cheese (he's a ham and says it anytime the iphone is pointed at him, it's really funny)

Ethan is 3.5 and boy is he 3.5. He is SO smart and that is a blessing and a curse. I call him my little litigator. The kid can argue any point. It's SO annoying and exhausting. We are spending many a day in and out of time outs for an over expression of independence to put it nicely. lol
He is also reading! YES reading!!! He can spell most 3 letter words and read them too. We are so proud of him! He is just awesome. Ethan also continues to be an amazing big brother. He gets annoyed with JT at times but what brother doesn't get annoyed with his little brother from time to time. Most of the time he is so great at playing with JT, loving him and making him feel better when crying. He is loving and sweet.

Jake and I are doing well just gearing up for #3 to arrive. He will be here sooner than we know. We are so excited and just waiting for lifes new challenges to begin. We don't seem to make it very long without some challenges.
God is awesome and has blessed us with an incredible church family at MPC. They love us and care for us and support us. They also are amazing with Justin. We are so happy there.

So, for now, I guess that's the guts of our life. I will have to go back and retell stories and events as I remember them. A few Ethan quotes to finish us off.

- Upon hearing he was having a baby brother and NOT a baby sister E turns to me and says "well you can put a bow on it and call it a girl" (um, nope sorry buddy, it's a boy)
- All Christmas season he insisted on being called Rudolph and even made his teachers call him that daily.
